Nov. 16 Over 9 Years: 88 Casualties in War Crimes Committed by US-Saudi Airstrikes on Yemen

Yemen: The US-Saudi aggression deliberately committed war crimes and acts of genocide on November 16 across the years 2015, 2016, and 2018. These crimes targeted women, children, and innocent civilians in their homes, on roads, and in their farms through relentless airstrikes, missile and artillery bombardments, and internationally banned cluster bombs. Civilian infrastructure, homes, camps, fuel tankers, and means of transportation in Taiz, Sa'adah, and Hodeidah were deliberately targeted. Documented crimes—and others incomplete in documentation—have also occurred in Marib, Al-Jawf, and Sana’a.

These attacks resulted in 48 martyrs and over 40 injured, the majority of whom were women and children. The strikes destroyed homes, displaced dozens of families, and deprived them of shelter and breadwinners. They also damaged road networks, hindered access to food, medicine, humanitarian aid, and disrupted movement for displaced persons, farmers, travelers, patients, and students. These are grave violations of international laws and humanitarian conventions.

2015: 11 Martyrs and Injured, Including Children in Taiz

US-Saudi airstrikes targeted the home of Abdullah Mansour Hadi in Sala District. The attack left eight martyrs and three injured, including four children. Entire families were buried under rubble, creating scenes of horror as survivors struggled to rescue loved ones amidst ongoing shelling.

2015: Airstrikes in Sa'adah's Maran Region

More than 15 airstrikes targeted vehicles and roads, cutting off transportation, halting essential supplies, and preventing access to medical care, worsening the suffering of residents.

2016: Wounded Civilians in Sa'adah’s Ghafira

Intense artillery and missile bombardments injured several civilians, caused widespread damage to homes and farms, and left the area in fear and isolation.

2018:16 Martyrs and Injured in Hodeidah

Two separate airstrikes targeted civilian homes, leaving 11 dead and five injured. Families were buried under rubble, and survivors were left displaced and grieving.

2019: Unverified War Crimes Across Multiple Provinces

Airstrikes in Marib, Al-Jawf, and Sana’a caused 29 deaths and 27 injuries. Victims included women and children, as homes, farms, and transportation routes were destroyed.

Scenes of bloodshed, destroyed homes, and displaced families reflect the devastating cost of these attacks. Survivors expressed anguish over the loss of loved ones, with many calling for accountability for crimes committed against innocent civilians.

Despite the ongoing suffering, the Yemeni people remain resilient, with calls for justice growing louder. These violations are not just war crimes but also a testament to the failure of international systems to protect civilian lives and uphold basic human rights.
