US-Israeli Genocide in Gaza, Lebanon ‘to Get Worse’ Under Trump: Ex-FBI Agent

News - World: The American-Israeli genocide of Palestinians and Lebanese is “almost certain to get worse” with the election of Donald Trump if the international community does nothing to uphold international law, says a former FBI special agent and whistleblower.

In an interview with the Press TV website on Sunday, Coleen Rowley, a retired FBI special agent and former Minneapolis Division legal counsel, said Trump and his prospective cabinet appointees have repeatedly equated Palestinians with “terrorists or non-humans” and urged the Israeli regime to "finish the job" of genocide.

Trump defeated his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris to cap a political comeback as the 47th president of the United States. He will replace his former election rival, Joe Biden.

There have been concerns about the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza and Lebanon worsening under Trump’s presidency owing to his close ties with the Benjamin Netanyahu regime in Tel Aviv.

Many of his cabinet nominees have been described as hardcore supporters of Israel, including the pick for Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who recently described Palestinian fighters as “vicious animals.”

Rowley said unless the international community “finally does something to uphold international law or some very unforeseen event happens” the ongoing genocide of Palestinians, not only in Gaza but also in the occupied West Bank and Lebanon, “is almost certain to get worse.”

She said Rubio is not only a war hawk who supports Israel's genocide, but he's “highly regarded in the Senate and considered well qualified for this Secretary of State position that he's nominated for, not only by his Republican colleagues but by Democrat ones as well.”

“So he (Rubio) should be one of Trump's nominees to sail through the confirmation process,” Rowley, who was a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) candidate for Congress in Minnesota's 2nd congressional district in 2005, told the Press TV website.

On Trump’s pick for Attorney General Matt Gaetz, who has been accused of sexual abuse of minors and drug use, Rowley said the Department of Justice "declined to prosecute him but the House ethics investigation (which was probably nearly completed) was stopped when Gaetz resigned to become Attorney General."

“No one really knows how much evidence has been collected or the merits of that investigation.  It wouldn't surprise me if the results of the ethics investigation get leaked to the media, especially if the investigation determined the allegations to be true,” she asserted.

“This could then lead to Gaetz not being confirmed by the Senate which would mean that Trump would have to temporarily install him somehow during a "recess”.”

Trump interestingly snubbed his former top diplomat Mike Pompeo as well as former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley this time, much to the surprise of many Republican pundits.

Rowley, a noted whistleblower, said Haley had not remained loyal to Trump but had run against him for the Republican nomination in 2024 “so that would indicate why Trump did not select her again.”

Pompeo, on the other hand, had “seemingly remained loyal” to Trump and it had been rumored he would become Trump's right-hand man again “so I don't think we know why Trump decided not to rehire him,” she hastened to add.

“My guess is that perhaps Musk, Tucker Carlson, or another powerful ally of Trump, warned him not to rehire Pompeo due to Pompeo's well-known support of war and otherwise unsavory public image.  But that's just a guess,” Rowley stated.

Trump is slated to return to the White House on January 20, 2025, and has so far made many controversial cabinet nominations, including that of Rubio, Gaetz, former Fox News anchor Pete Hagseth as his pick for defense secretary, and RFK Jr as health secretary.

Elon Musk, the billionaire social media czar, has been tapped to head what the president-elect has named the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) along with Vivek Ramaswamy.
