A Decade of Tragedy on Nov. 20th: Over 110 Victims of US-Saudi Crimes in Yemen

Yemen: On November 20th across several years (2015–2019), the US-Saudi aggression intentionally committed war crimes and acts of genocide through brutal airstrikes, artillery shelling, and the use of internationally banned cluster bombs. The targets included markets, migrant shelters, residential areas, farms, worker transports, and civilian vehicles in Yemen's Sa'adah and Hodeidah governorates.

These attacks caused:

Casualties: 42 deaths and over 70 injuries, including women and children.
Displacement: Dozens of families were forced to flee their homes.
Economic devastation: Livelihoods destroyed and movement restricted.
Psychological impact: Widespread grief, fear, and suffering among survivors.

Key Incidents

November 20, 2015

An airstrike targeted a passenger vehicle in Sa'adah's Razeh district, killing ten civilians and injuring others. The aftermath was horrifying, with bodies burned beyond recognition and scattered remains hanging from trees.

November 20, 2016

Cluster bomb attacks on Al-Malahit area in Sa'adah destroyed homes and farms, displacing families and leaving long-term environmental hazards.

November 20, 2017

Airstrikes in Hodeidah struck food transport trucks and worker vehicles, killing nine and injuring three. Survivors described the horrifying scene of charred remains and burning vehicles.

November 20, 2018

Shelling by coalition forces targeted residential areas and markets in Hodeidah, injuring civilians and causing mass displacement.

November 20, 2019

A shelling attack on a migrant market in Sa'adah’s Al-Raqw area killed ten and injured 35, leaving scenes of devastation and horror among those seeking safety.

Unrecorded Crimes

Between 2015 and 2021, similar unverified attacks on homes, farms, and civilian vehicles in multiple Yemeni provinces resulted in over 40 casualties.

The atrocities reflect blatant violations of international humanitarian law. Yemenis demand accountability for these war crimes and call on the international community to take immediate action to end the aggression and protect civilian lives.
