Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in the capital Tehran on Wednesday.
The president said Tehran would speed up the implementation of agreements reached with Doha during his recent visit to the Persian Gulf peninsular country.
The Iranian president hoped that the Qatari side would also pursue the agreements with greater determination.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands by its words, honors its agreements, and remains committed to them.”
Pezeshkian also highlighted his vision of unity in the Islamic world.
“Our heartfelt desire is to have sincere relations with our Muslim brothers and to show the world that Muslim countries can live together in peace and harmony, respecting one another, while exchanging experiences and collaborating side by side,” he said.
During Pezeshkian’s official visit to Qatar in early October, Iranian and Qatari officials signed six cooperation agreements.
These agreements cover various sectors including economic and commercial cooperation, cultural, educational, and sports initiatives.
Notable agreements include collaboration on the development of the Deir Port, health, welfare, and trade, a program for cultural cooperation by 2027, and a program for sports cooperation by 2026.
At the end of his remarks on Wednesday, Pezeshkian invited Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Al Thani to visit Iran.
The Qatari foreign minister, for his part, expressed his country's interest in expanding relations with Iran and said Doha hopes that the Emir of Qatar would visit Iran early next year.
“The Emir and the government of Qatar emphasize the need to expedite the implementation of agreements between the two countries.
“In recent months, there have been changes in Qatar's cabinet, and a new position, the Minister of Foreign Trade, has been appointed.
“One of the priorities of this position is to implement agreements with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Al Thani added.
The Qatari prime minister said Doha sought to expand relations and establish a solid foundation for the bilateral ties.
“Qatar will always be a strong and trusted ally of Iran,” Al Thani stated. “The great and powerful country of Iran can bring the idea of Islamic unity to fruition.”
Earlier in the day, Al Thani met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi and they discussed bilateral and regional developments.
