Nov. 21 Over 9 Years: Over 40 Casualties in US-Saudi Crimes on Yemen

Yemen: On November 21, during 2015 and 2016, US-Saudi airstrikes carried out war crimes, displacing families, destroying homes, and targeting civilians in Yemen’s residential areas, markets, and fishing boats, particularly in Hodeidah, Sa’adah, and Hajjah.

Key Incidents:

1. 2015: Sa’adah Tragedy

 • Victims: 2 killed (a woman and her child), 5 injured.
 • Details: Airstrikes hit homes in Sa’adah, killing civilians and forcing families to flee. Survivors described scenes of destruction and horror, with homes reduced to rubble and people buried under the debris.

 2. 2015: Fishermen Massacre in Hodeidah

 • Victims: 8 killed, 11 injured.
 • Details: Strikes on fishing boats near Hanish Island destroyed livelihoods and caused chaos, turning the Red Sea into a scene of bloodshed and devastation.

 3. 2016: Market Bombing in Hajjah

 • Victims: 3 killed, 10 injured, including children.
 • Details: A busy marketplace in Raboua was bombed, killing shoppers and traders, destroying property, and spreading fear among residents.

Impact on Civilians:

These attacks have left families homeless, robbed them of their income, and deepened the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. Women, children, and the elderly continue to suffer the most, with many forced to live in fear and despair.

These incidents stand as stark reminders of the ongoing violations of human rights and international law in Yemen, with countless other crimes going undocumented amid the chaos of war.
