Nov. 27 Over 9 Years: 35 Casualties in US-Saudi Airstrikes on Civilians and Infrastructure in Yemen

Yemen: On November 27 in past years—2015, 2016, 2020, and 2021—the US-Saudi aggression deliberately carried out war crimes and acts of genocide against civilians in Yemen. These crimes included brutal airstrikes, cluster bombs, and missile attacks targeting civilians in their homes, infrastructure, private and public properties, livestock, and even Arabian thoroughbred horse stables in Sana’a, Sa'adah, and Taiz.

Key Incidents and Details

2015: 26 Casualties in Taiz

On this day, airstrikes targeted homes in Al-Hadd, Al-Waziyah District, Taiz Governorate, killing 13 people and injuring 13 others, including women and children. Homes were reduced to rubble, turning them into mass graves. The destruction spread panic and forced mass displacement, exacerbating the already dire living conditions in the area. Survivors described horrific scenes of chaos, with rescuers pursued by airstrikes, leaving families helpless under the rubble.

2016: Cluster Bombs Wound Two Children in Sa'adah

In Sa'adah, two children were injured by US-Saudi missile strikes and cluster bombs. In Haydan District, a three-year-old girl suffered severe injuries, and in Al-Zahir District, a boy under ten was wounded when a cluster bomb exploded. Parents described the terror of seeing their children maimed, as limited healthcare facilities and ongoing shelling left them struggling to find treatment.

2020: Strikes on Sana’a Kill Two, Injure Six, and Decimate Arabian Horses

Airstrikes on government and civilian facilities in Sana’a resulted in two deaths, six injuries, and extensive destruction.

Cleaning and Improvement Fund:

Airstrikes destroyed storage facilities, killing one citizen and injuring three.

Horse Stables at the Military College:

The third attack on the stables in a year killed 30 rare Arabian horses and injured 50 others. Workers and animals were caught in the bombings, with survivors witnessing gruesome scenes of mutilated horses and burning structures.

2021: Strikes on Dahban, Sana’a

In Dahban, Bani Al-Harith District, airstrikes caused widespread destruction and displacement. Civilian properties, businesses, and public facilities were bombed, inflicting severe financial losses and psychological trauma. Entire neighborhoods were forced to flee as fear gripped women, children, and families left homeless.

These repeated atrocities over nine years highlight deliberate targeting of civilians, violation of international humanitarian laws, and crimes against humanity. The attacks have caused thousands of deaths, displacement of millions, destruction of livelihoods, and severe psychological and economic impacts.

The Yemeni people continue to document these crimes, seeking justice through international courts and appealing to the global community to end the aggression and hold perpetrators accountable. Despite the suffering, Yemen remains resilient, determined to achieve freedom and independence.
