Yemeni Mufti Condemns Arab Silence on Gaza and Urges Action Against Israeli Aggression

News - Yemen: The Mufti of Yemen, Scholar Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, delivered sharp criticism against Arab regimes for their silence and inaction in supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In a statement to Almasirah on Friday, Sharaf al-Din emphasized that there is no excuse for those neglecting their responsibility toward what is happening in Gaza. He warned that "the cost of the war on our brothers in Gaza might be paid with Muslim wealth."

The Mufti highlighted the significant role of scholars during these challenging times, stressing that scholars have a great duty towards Gaza.

He held Arab regimes directly accountable for the bloodshed in Gaza, stating: "Arab regimes consider what is happening in Gaza as something that does not concern them. They hold summits and issue demands without taking any practical actions, and the U.S. has permitted them only verbal condemnation."

The Mufti called on Arab regimes to sever diplomatic ties with the Israeli enemy, asserting that "Arabs have the ability to cut diplomatic relations with Israel, but they have not done so."

He warned that the bloodshed in Gaza will not go unnoticed by those watching idly, who have the ability to offer support but have failed to act. He emphasized that if the regimes do not move, the responsibility will fall upon the people to take action themselves.

Sharaf al-Din praised Hezbollah's resistance in Lebanon, stating that Hezbollah has dealt a critical blow to the enemy to the extent that the enemy itself requested a ceasefire.

Backed by the United States and its Western allies, Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against the Israeli regime in response to the occupying entity’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

It has also been committing war crimes such as starving the population and intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population in the besieged territory.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Zionist enemy entity has committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 33 martyrs and 137 injuries arriving at hospitals within the past 24 hours.

In its daily statistical report on the number of martyrs and wounded due to the ongoing Zionist aggression for the 420th day on the Gaza Strip, the ministry reported that the toll has risen to 44,363 martyrs and 105,070 injuries since October 7, 2023.

The ministry also noted that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.
