News - Middle East: The Israeli military continues to deliberately commit acts of genocide against Palestinians as part of the ongoing war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, Amnesty International (AI) stated in a report released on Thursday.

The organization revealed that it has concluded that Israel and its military have committed at least three of the five acts prohibited under the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

Amnesty listed these acts as: killing members of a protected group, causing serious bodily or mental harm, and deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of the group.

It noted that this conclusion was reached after months of analyzing evidence and statements from Israeli officials.

Amnesty’s Secretary General, Agnès Callamard, said in a press statement, "Genocide is being committed. There is no doubt about it. After six months of deep and focused research, we are certain."

Callamard further noted that Amnesty International had not initially aimed to prove genocide but, after reviewing the evidence collectively, found that the only conclusion is that "Israel is deliberately committing genocide."

This report by Amnesty comes approximately two weeks after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

For the 426th consecutive day, the Israeli military continues its genocidal campaign and military aggression against civilians in Gaza, alongside committing massacres, enforcing blockades, and starving Palestinians, particularly in the northern part of the Strip.
