News - Yemen: The Yemeni Parliament, in its session on Tuesday, strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Syria's capital, Damascus, describing them as blatant aggression against the Syrian people and their resources.

The Parliament urged Arab legislative bodies to denounce the Israeli attacks on Syria, including the occupation of new areas and villages in Quneitra and Mount Hermon by Israeli forces.

It reaffirmed Yemen’s solidarity with Syria's leadership and people in confronting the joint Israeli-American project aimed at undermining Syria's unity and independence while exploiting ongoing events to enforce a new expansionist settlement reality in the region.

The Parliament also criticized the international community’s silence and double standards regarding the escalating aggression against Syria and the region.

It denounced the apathy of Arab and Islamic regimes in the face of this dangerous escalation, which poses a broader threat to regional stability, facilitated by continued U.S. and Western support for Israel's criminal plans to impose their hegemony over the region.

The Parliament called on Syrian intellectuals and leaders to resist Zionist schemes targeting Syria's unity, aiming to weaken and divide its land while fueling internal conflicts to undermine its sovereignty and marginalize its role in defending Arab causes.

The Parliament highlighted the conspiracies targeting the Arab world, which seek retribution for its steadfast support of the Palestinian cause and its heroic resistance. This, it noted, necessitates greater vigilance and caution.

The Yemeni Parliament reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the Arab world’s just issues. It called on the Arab and Islamic nations to unify their ranks against Israeli and Zionist ambitions in the region, rejecting any defeatist policies and resisting all adversarial schemes.

An Israeli military incursion into southern Syria has reached about 25 kilometers (16 miles) southwest of the capital Damascus, two regional security sources and one Syrian security source said.

The Syrian security source says Israeli occupation forces reached Qatana, which is 10 kilometers (6 miles) into Syrian territory, east of the buffer zone.

Tuesday’s strikes followed a speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said in a press conference on Monday that the illegally occupied Golan Heights will “forever be an inseparable part” of the Zionist entity.

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli enemy occupied Jabal Al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon) near the Golan Heights. The aggression came following the fall of President Bashar Al-Assad’s government after an armed opposition, led by Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham, entered the capital Damascus early on Sunday.
