Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery for those injured in Wednesday's bomb blast in the Afghan capital of Kabul.
Khalil Ur-Rahman Haqqani, the Taliban's acting minister for refugees and repatriation, was killed in the attack that took place at the ministry building.
The Taliban blamed Daesh for the “cowardly attack,” that was later claimed by the Takfiri terrorist group.
According to a report by Daesh's Amaq news agency, a terrorist waited outside the minister's office and detonated explosives as he walked out.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar denounced the attack, saying his country "unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations."
Daesh has increased its activities in Afghanistan in the past years, especially since the United States’ withdrawal of its occupation forces from the war-torn country in 2021.
