These heinous acts led to the martyrdom of 18 individuals, most of whom were women and children, in addition to dozens of injuries. The airstrikes destroyed numerous homes, public properties, educational facilities, and healthcare centers, using internationally prohibited weapons to devastate both human lives and the environment. They caused fear, displacement, homelessness, and intensified suffering among the population. Below are the details:
2015: 16 Martyrs and Dozens Injured in Two Massacres Targeting Three Families in Sa'adah
On this day in 2015, the US-Saudi aggression committed two massacres that further added to its record of crimes against the Yemeni people. The coalition launched brutal airstrikes on two homes—one belonging to Abdul Karim Al-Azi in Wadi Amalh, Kitaf district, and the other to Saleh Al-Awjari in Nashour, Al-Safra district. Additionally, cluster bombs targeted citizens' farms in Bani Sayyah, Razih district, in three simultaneous crimes that resulted in 16 martyrs and multiple injuries. Homes were turned into mass graves, and farmlands became death traps for both humans and the environment.
2017: 2 Martyrs in Airstrikes on Homes and Farms in Sana’a’s Sanhan District
On this day in 2017, the coalition added more crimes to its record by targeting civilian homes and farms in the Harorah area and a citizen's home in Hizyaz, Sanhan district, in Sana’a. These attacks killed two innocent civilians, destroyed homes and properties, and caused widespread terror and grief among the local population.
2021: Airstrikes Target Prisoners and Nearby Maternity Hospital in Sana’a
In 2021, the coalition committed yet another war crime by targeting the central security detention facility near the Al-Sabeen maternity and pediatric hospital in Sana’a. The airstrikes caused injuries to civilians, spread panic among hospital staff, patients, and detainees, and caused significant damage to hospital facilities.
The US-Saudi aggression's repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure, homes, educational and healthcare facilities constitutes war crimes and violations of international law. These crimes demand urgent international action to hold the perpetrators accountable and ensure justice for the victims.
