Yemen: On December 23 in the years 2015, 2016, and 2017, the US-Saudi aggression deliberately committed war crimes and acts of genocide. Their direct and brutal airstrikes targeted civilians in football fields, tribal gatherings, markets, roads, funeral halls, schools, and communication networks across the Yemeni provinces of Sana'a, Sa'adah, and Taiz.

These attacks resulted in 23 martyrs and 49 injuries, including women and children. They also caused the destruction of numerous homes, public and private properties, businesses, and vehicles, leaving a trail of terror and deepening the suffering of innocent civilians.

2015: 19 Casualties in a Market Attack in Taiz

On this day, the US-Saudi aggression launched another war crime by targeting a popular market and a car on the main road in the Yakhtal area of Mokha District. The direct strikes led to the martyrdom of 10 citizens and injuries to nine others, including children. The attack also caused significant destruction to properties, terrified shoppers, and exacerbated suffering in the area.

Residents at the market were peacefully buying their essential needs when the enemy’s air force monitored the scene and launched a treacherous attack, turning a place of livelihood and joy into a scene of devastation.

2016: Bombing a Communication Network and School in Sa'adah

On this date, the aggression targeted civilian infrastructure by bombing the communication network and Abu Faras Al-Hamdani School in the Al-Salem area of Kitaf District, Sa'adah Province. The airstrikes deprived residents and hundreds of students of communication and education services.

2017: 28 Casualties in an Attack on a Tribal Gathering in Sana'a

On this day, the US-Saudi aggression added another war crime by targeting a peaceful tribal gathering near the University in Arhab District, Sana'a Province, marking 1,000 days of resistance. The airstrikes caused five martyrs and 23 injuries, spreading terror among attendees and their families.

2017: Targeting Children Playing Football in Sana'a

Later that same day, the coalition committed another atrocity by targeting children playing football in Arhab District. The airstrikes resulted in five martyrs and 15 injuries, turning an innocent game into a scene of horror and grief.

2017: Targeting Women Returning from a Funeral in Sa'adah

The same day, the coalition targeted five women returning from a funeral in the Razih District of Sa'adah Province. The airstrike led to the martyrdom of three women and injuries to two others, in an act described as a deliberate attack on honor and humanity.

These heinous war crimes against civilians and civilian infrastructure demonstrate a deliberate attempt to crush Yemen's resilience and violate international laws. Such acts demand urgent international intervention to stop the aggression and hold perpetrators accountable, or Yemen will continue to expand its capabilities to defend its people and seek justice by force.
