Yemeni Parliament Urges Arab and Islamic Legislatures to Act Swiftly to Save the Palestinian People

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Parliament has condemned the shameful and disgraceful state of Arab and Islamic inaction, indifference, and silence in the face of Zionist crimes and the horrific massacres and acts of genocide committed daily against the Palestinian people by Israeli forces.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Parliament called on the leaders and members of Arab and Islamic legislatures, as well as freedom advocates around the world and the remnants of human conscience, to take urgent action to rescue the Palestinian people from the relentless killing, criminality, and terrorism inflicted by Zionist forces for over 440 days. These attacks have resulted in more than 145,000 Palestinians killed or injured—many of them children and women—along with tens of thousands detained or missing.

Additionally, the statement highlighted the destruction of infrastructure, the demolition of homes over their inhabitants in Gaza and Lebanon, and Israeli expansion into Syrian territories, including Mount Hermon and Quneitra, where civilian and military infrastructure has been destroyed.

The Parliament strongly denounced the complicity of the Palestinian Authority and its so-called police and security forces, which, rather than protecting Gaza and countering Zionist forces killing Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and across all occupied territories, have instead pursued and disarmed those defending their land, sanctities, and honor.

The statement also refuted the false narratives propagated by Zionist war criminals, including recent remarks by the notorious Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar. He reportedly directed Israeli diplomatic missions in Europe to label those opposing Zionist crimes and supporting the Palestinian cause as terrorists. Furthermore, he demanded that the UN Security Council convene an emergency session to condemn Yemen’s pro-Palestinian stance. The Parliament dismissed this as hypocritical, noting that true terrorism is the deliberate targeting of civilians, hospitals, and other facilities with aircraft, missiles, and internationally banned weapons, with complete disregard for humanitarian principles and the suffering of children, women, and patients caused by aggression and blockade.

The Parliament emphasized that the real terrorist is the one who kills children, women, and the elderly in Palestine and Lebanon, with no regard for humanitarian or moral considerations. It urged Arab legislatures to adopt the plight of the Palestinian people and to take action in parliamentary forums and international courts to demand accountability for Zionist war criminals, including implementing the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against figures such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant.

The Yemeni Parliament also warned of suspicious activities by Western ambassadors meeting with mercenaries of the aggression, holding them responsible for any steps that could compromise Yemeni sovereignty. It reaffirmed Yemen's right to defend its unity, security, stability, and sovereignty through all available means.

The statement called for national unity, vigilance, and solidarity behind the revolutionary and political leadership to thwart any hostile moves within Yemen’s territories and territorial waters. It declared that Israel and the United States are the root causes of evil, crime, and terrorism in the region and the world and affirmed Yemen's commitment to defending its land, territorial waters, resources, and the causes of its nation while confronting any Israeli, American, or British aggression.

Finally, the Parliament reiterated its condemnation of repeated Israeli, American, and British attacks on Yemen and the region’s peoples, describing them as grave violations of international law and UN Security Council resolutions and as ongoing threats to international peace and security.

Israel unleashed a genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after Hamas carried out a historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has targeted hospitals in its bloody onslaught, damaging or destroying Gaza’s most important healthcare centers in blatant violation of international law.
