The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed in a statement that the Zionist aggression resulted in the martyrdom, injury of a number of civilians, as well as material damages. It regarded the Zionist aggression as a blatant violation of Yemen's sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, the UN Charter, and international law
The statement pointed out that by targeting civilian infrastructure such as airports, ports, and power stations, the Zionist entity blatantly disregards international law, shows contempt for all international norms, conventions, and laws.
The statement clarified that the occupying entity targeted Sana'a Airport at a time when the UN Secretary-General's envoy, the Director-General of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the UN Resident Coordinator, Julian Harnis, and their accompanying staff were preparing to depart after an official visit to Sana'a. The attack resulted in the injury of one member of the UN aircraft crew.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement confirmed that targeting Sana'a Airport, which is a vital lifeline for civilian and humanitarian flights, constitutes a flagrant violation of relevant international agreements, particularly the 1944 Chicago Convention, which prohibits the targeting of civilian airports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that the ongoing Zionist aggression against Yemen will not deter the leadership and the Yemeni people from their support for the Palestinian people and their just cause. It emphasized that the siege and targeting by the Zionist entity will only stop with the cessation of the aggression, the lifting of the blockade imposed on Gaza.
The Ministry called on the international community to condemn the blatant Zionist aggression against Yemen, to stop the Zionist recklessness in Yemen and several other countries in the region, which threatens international peace and security. It also urged the taking of serious steps to compel the occupying entity to halt the genocide crimes it is committing in Gaza.
On Thursday, three citizens were martyred, 16 others were injured in airstrikes by the American-Israeli aggression on the capital, Sana'a, and Hodeidah Governorate.
The US-British coalition continues its aggression on Yemen in support of the Israeli occupation, attempting to deter Yemen from supporting the Palestinian people, who have been facing a Zionist genocidal war for over a year. Meanwhile, Sana'a has reaffirmed its commitment to the Al-Aqsa Flood campaign and its ongoing naval blockade on the Israeli occupation until the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon ceases.
