News - Yemen: Israel’s Channel 12 highlighted the escalating threat posed by Yemeni military operations, which are now reaching deep into Israeli-claimed areas.

Major General Israel Ziv, a prominent figure in Israel's military strategy and defense analysis, stated that the Zionist entity's intensive airstrikes on Yemeni infrastructure will not deter the Yemeni Armed Forces from their operations in the Red Sea, carried out in solidarity with Gaza.

He clarified that Yemen’s involvement is not just another front in the conflict alongside Hamas or Hezbollah but represents a distinct and significant challenge.

Ziv pointed out that addressing this issue cannot be resolved through strikes on infrastructure thousands of kilometers away.

He emphasized that the Yemeni forces possess advanced weaponry, including hundreds of cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones. Their operations are bolstered by Yemen’s vast, mountainous terrain, which provides strategic shelter and resilience, as well as their unique internal communication systems that complicate intelligence gathering.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have successfully targeted Zionist-linked ships in the Red Sea, causing significant economic damage to Israel and disrupting operations at the Port of Eilat for over a year.

"Neither the Saudi-led regional coalition nor the coalition led by the US and Britain has managed to break the spirit of the Yemenis since 2015," Ziv noted.

He stressed the importance of Israel being geographically closer to Yemen to facilitate intelligence collection, precise monitoring, and timely strikes. This would require deploying a substantial task force in the region and possibly joining the existing regional coalition—a decision fraught with costs and potential repercussions.

Ziv cautioned that achieving operational effectiveness against Yemen would take time and warned that retaliatory strikes alone would not weaken the Yemeni forces.

He described the Yemenis as a persistent and long-term threat to Israel’s security.

Since Israel began its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Yemen has openly expressed support for Palestine’s resistance against the Israeli occupation. The ongoing aggression in Gaza has claimed the lives of at least 45,484 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

In addition to missile strikes, Yemen has also targeted ships linked to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

The US-British coalition continues its aggression on Yemen in support of the Israeli occupation, attempting to deter Yemen from supporting the Palestinian people.

However, the Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
