News - Yemen: The Presidency of the Shura Council strongly condemned and denounced the Israeli occupation forces' heinous crime of storming and burning Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, forcibly evacuating patients and displaced persons, and abducting medical staff at gunpoint.

In its meeting on Monday, the council described this act as a fully-fledged war crime, adding it to the series of genocidal crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people amidst shameful and disgraceful Arab, Islamic, and international inaction.

The council expressed outrage at the blatant violation of humanitarian law by the occupying forces, highlighting their criminal and inhumane tendencies. 

The brutal expulsion of patients and displaced persons from the hospital, stripping them of their clothing in full view of the world, and subjecting them to indignities constitute a crime that shocks the conscience of humanity.

The council called upon the remaining vestiges of global conscience and freedom-loving individuals worldwide to act at all levels and pressure the international community to halt the crimes of the occupation and save what remains of the healthcare system in Gaza from systematic targeting and destruction by the Israeli enemy.

It urged the United Nations and the World Health Organization to intervene urgently to save the lives of patients, the wounded, and medical staff, and to stop the violations they face after being forcibly removed from the hospital and taken to unknown locations.

Israeli troops stormed the hospital on Friday following nearly three months of a suffocating blockade and constant airstrikes targeting the facility and its surroundings.

The bombardment caused fires in several hospital departments, resulting in the death and injury of Palestinian medical staff and patients.

All remaining medical personnel, patients, and their families were forced out of the hospital at gunpoint, stripped to their underwear, and taken to an undisclosed location.

Israeli forces violently detained and interrogated the medical staff of Kamal Adwan Hospital, one of the last functioning health centers in Gaza.

Israel’s attacks on civilian infrastructure, hospitals, and health care are also part of a deliberate effort to collectively punish and depopulate across the besieged Palestinian territory.
