The scholars described the attacks on Yemen and Gaza as fully-fledged war crimes and a dangerous provocation that risks igniting widespread confrontation and plunging the world into severe crises.
In their statement, the scholars affirmed Yemen’s right to respond to the aggression, emphasizing the legitimacy of deterrence and the principle of reciprocity. "An eye for an eye, and a strike for a strike," they declared, asserting that Yemen has both the moral and legal right to defend itself.
The association criticized the silence and inaction of Arab and Islamic governments in the face of what they called a blatant assault on both Gaza and Yemen. They urged these nations to take a stand against the aggression rather than remain passive observers.
Praising the Yemeni people's steadfastness, the scholars commended the massive turnout in Al-Sabeen Square in support of Gaza, despite airstrikes targeting the area. "The faith-driven stance of the Yemeni people is a beacon of hope, and their solidarity with Gaza embodies the spirit of resistance and justice," they stated.
The association also saluted the armed stances and mobilization efforts of Yemeni tribes, highlighting their role in defending the nation. They called for greater unity, solidarity, and fraternity among the tribes, urging them to continue along the path of resistance.
In a direct message to the Saudi and Emirati regimes, the scholars called for a complete withdrawal from Yemen and an end to conspiracies against the country. "It is time to reconsider your policies, return to reason, and leave Yemen in peace," they urged.
The US-British-Zionist aggression launched a series of hostile airstrikes this Friday afternoon targeting the capital, Sanaa, coinciding with the weekly million-strong popular gatherings in support of Gaza.
At least three citizens, including a worker at the Haziz Central Power Station in Sanhan District, were injured, and several homes were damaged due to the aggression targeting the power station.
In addition to missile strikes, Yemen has also targeted ships linked to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
