The Parliament called the attacks a “criminal and terrorist act,” accusing the aggressors of escalating tensions in the region and undermining global security.
The legislative body emphasized that these aggressions would not deter Yemenis from supporting Palestine and resisting the genocide faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza.
It praised the resilience of Yemeni citizens, who, despite airstrikes near the Al-Sabeen Square rally, continued to express solidarity with the Palestinian cause through massive demonstrations.
The Parliament also criticized the international community’s double standards and silence toward the crimes committed against Yemen and Palestine, urging global condemnation of the aggression.
Similarly, the Anti-Aggression Political Alliance issued a statement denouncing the attacks on vital civilian and economic infrastructure in Hodeidah and Sanaa, including strikes near the large assemblies in Al-Sabeen Square.
The alliance called the aggression an attempt to intimidate and terrorize Yemenis but said it had only strengthened their resolve. Protesters reportedly responded with calls for an escalation of retaliatory strikes against Israeli targets and allied American and British forces.
The alliance described the aggression as a desperate measure aimed at deterring Yemen’s unwavering support for Gaza. It accused Israel, the US, and Britain of violating Yemen’s sovereignty and disregarding international laws and human rights, while highlighting the continued atrocities in Gaza under a 16-month siege.
Both entities urged international actors, including Arab and Islamic parliaments and free nations worldwide, to condemn the escalation and act against the ongoing crimes in Gaza and Yemen.
The Yemeni Parliament reiterated Yemen’s right to self-defense and its commitment to standing with Palestine, affirming that such aggression would only strengthen the nation’s determination to support just causes in Palestine and beyond.
The US-British-Zionist aggression launched a series of hostile airstrikes this Friday afternoon targeting the capital, Sanaa, coinciding with the weekly million-strong popular gatherings in support of Gaza.
At least three citizens, including a worker at the Haziz Central Power Station in Sanhan District, were injured, and several homes were damaged due to the aggression targeting the power station.
In addition to missile strikes, Yemen has also targeted ships linked to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
