News - Yemen: Military media released on Monday scenes of launching a Zolfaghar ballistic missile at King Khalid Airport in Riyadh as part of the “5th Operation of Balanced Deterrence".

On Sunday, the spokesman for Yemeni Armed Forces announced at a news conference the implementation of the “5th Operation of Balanced Deterrence”, a massive retaliatory strike, featuring a ballistic missile and as many as nine drones, against sensitive spots in the Saudi capital.

Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said the counterattack had begun on Saturday and lasted until early Sunday, identifying the projectile as a Zolfaghar-type ballistic missile, and the drones as Sammad-3-type UAVs.

“The 5th Operation of Balanced Deterrence came in retaliation for the kingdom’s ongoing escalating aggression and siege on our dear people,” Sare’e said. “The retaliatory attack targeted sensitive sites in the enemy's capital Riyadh.”

As part of the retaliation, six more unmanned aircraft of the Qassef-2K also targeted Abha International Airport and Khamis Mushait area in the southwestern Saudi Asir region. “The drones struck their targets with accuracy,” he added.
