A Year of US-British Failure: Yemen Redefines the Rules of Resistance

Yemen: The Yemeni people have completed a full year of extraordinary resilience against the US-UK-led coalition of aggression, showcasing remarkable acts of bravery and defiance.

This resilience has significantly contributed to the failure of London and Washington's plans, neutralizing much of their military power and escalating operations against the criminal Zionist enemy. Meanwhile, Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people has continued.

After the historic day of October 7, the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin al-Houthi, delivered a televised speech affirming Yemen's unconditional support for the Palestinian resistance, which caused lasting security tremors within the Zionist entity. These effects are evident even after 16 months and are expected to persist far into the future.

At that time, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi warned that Yemen would directly intervene if the US joined forces with the Zionist entity. Predictably, the US threw its full military weight behind the Zionist regime, prompting the Yemeni Armed Forces to launch military operations in solidarity with Gaza and its historic plight.

As the Zionist shipping lanes faced increasing threats in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the US announced the formation of an international coalition comprising 40 countries under the banner of "Operation Prosperity Guardian," aimed at securing Zionist vessels and protecting them from Yemeni military operations in support of Gaza.

Despite the initial coalition size, most nations withdrew, leaving the US and UK as the primary aggressors against Yemen. The US deployed its naval fleet, including warships, destroyers, bombers, and submarines, to the Red Sea, launching its first assault on January 12, 2024, targeting Sana’a and Hodeidah. This marked the start of direct US involvement in Yemen’s war, plunging them into a quagmire from which no aggressor has ever emerged unscathed.

Yemeni Armed Forces' Tactical Progression

The Yemeni Armed Forces responded with a phased military strategy, starting with operations targeting the Zionist entity's core and later moving to disrupt Zionist maritime routes in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean. These escalated in response to the Zionist entity's intensified war crimes in Gaza.

Yemeni forces successfully expelled US and European fleets operating under "Operation Prosperity Guardian" and "Operation Aspides" through relentless offensive operations. Yemeni forces struck frigates, destroyers, and US aircraft carriers, ultimately forcing a retreat under sustained and devastating attacks.

A Year of Remarkable Achievements and Enemy Setbacks

Military expert Zain Al-Abidin Othman highlighted Yemen’s numerous achievements over the past year, emphasizing the Yemeni Armed Forces' ability to expel US and European fleets and escalate attacks on the Zionist entity. Othman described how key targets like Tel Aviv (Jaffa) were transformed into open military zones, with near-daily precision strikes using advanced weapons, including hypersonic missiles and long-range drones with ranges of up to 2,500 km.

Othman further noted Yemen’s technological advancements, which rival global powers like Russia and China. He cited the development of missiles like the Palestine-2, comparable to Russia's Kinzhal and China’s DF-17, solidifying Yemen's position as the sixth global power in advanced missile production.

In addition, Yemen’s drone program saw groundbreaking advancements, including suicide drones capable of evading sophisticated air defense systems. The development of Yafa drones, with ranges exceeding 2,500 km, underscores Yemen's growing military prowess.

Yemeni Naval Forces also achieved significant milestones, producing advanced ballistic and cruise missiles, unmanned submarines, and FPV explosive boats capable of carrying up to 1,500 kg of explosives.

Transformative Gains Amid Aggression

According to military analyst Aziz Rashid, Yemeni forces inflicted unprecedented damage on US maritime dominance. He noted the successful targeting of over 220 Zionist-bound commercial and military ships during the aggression, using innovative ballistic and hypersonic missiles.

Rashid emphasized Yemen’s ability to neutralize Zionist defense systems, including Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow, demonstrating superior missile and drone technology. He also highlighted Yemen's economic blockade on the Zionist entity, which has caused losses estimated in billions, despite heavy US-UK naval presence.

Rashid warned that the US’s reliance on its naval power is crumbling, with Yemen dismantling the myth of US aircraft carrier supremacy. He described how Yemeni forces targeted four major US carriers—Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Abraham Lincoln, and Harry Truman—marking a historic first since World War II.

Future of Resilience and Resistance

As 2025 unfolds, Yemen’s Armed Forces remain steadfast in their mission to support Gaza and counter US-Zionist aggression. Military expert Mujib Shamsan affirmed that Yemen’s operations will escalate strategically if the aggression persists, ensuring greater damage to US and Zionist forces.

Shamsan concluded that the Red Sea crisis cannot be resolved without addressing Yemen’s demands to end the Zionist siege on Gaza. He warned that continued US militarization in the region would only deepen its losses.

Yemen’s resilience and determination continue to shape new strategic realities, proving that aggression only strengthens its resolve to defend its sovereignty and support oppressed nations. Yemen has emerged as a formidable force, challenging global powers and reshaping the balance of power in the region.
