US-Saudi Aggression Prevents Over 400 of Necessary Items to Enter Hodeidah Port

News - Yemen: The Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation held an expanded meeting in the capital, Sana’a, on Wednesday.

In the meeting, Minister of Transport Amer Al-Marani affirmed the readiness of the Hodeidah port to receive ships, commercial containers, goods and foodstuffs, pointing to the advantages that the port of Hodeidah possesses and its importance in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni People and providing their basic needs of foodstuffs.

He expressed the readiness of the Ministry and the Red Sea Ports Corporation to facilitate all procedures for ships and commercial containers loaded with foodstuffs entering Hodeidah ports.

Minister Al-Marani considered the unjust increasing in the price of the customs dollar fee from 250 to 500 riyals by the US-Saudi mercenaries in Aden as an aggressive scheme to kill and bring down the Yemeni people after the military failure.

He stated that the US-Saudi aggression, since its beginning, has prevented the entry of more than 400 items to the port of Hodeidah, all of which are a basic requirement for the lives of Yemenis, considering the blockade imposed by the aggression on the port as a crime against humanity and a violation of all international laws and conventions.

Members of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation stressed that the decision of the customs authorities in Aden to raise the price of the customs dollar has catastrophic repercussions on the livelihood of the citizen and damages the national economy and the commercial and investment movement.

They discussed the mechanism of facilitating the transfer of ships and containers from the port of Aden to the port of Hodeidah due to the raising of tariff fees at the customs of Aden, the readiness of the port of Hodeidah and the facilities provided to traders and the private sector.

They also reviewed the problems and difficulties facing the private sector and traders, the high cost of transporting goods and foodstuffs from Aden to Sana'a, the long and difficult distances, and the dangers facing heavy trucks.
