News - Yemen: The Media Department of the Yemeni Presidential Office condemned the removal of its page by Facebook. It considered the decision arbitrary and without any legal justification. The page represents the President and doesn't include any violations of the standards claimed by Facebook.

The department indicated in a statement that the page was removed after the number of followers reached more than 150 thousand followers, noting that this is not the first time that the presidential office page has been closed on the social networking site, Facebook.

The statement stressed that the continuation of Facebook and some social networking sites to close pages and accounts opposed to the policies of the global arrogant countries, led by America, exposes the falseness of the slogans they raise in the name of democracy and freedom of expression.
