News - Yemen: The Shura Council condemned the continuation of the Saudi-led aggression coalition, the practice of maritime piracy and the detention of fuel ships and preventing them from reaching the port of Hodeidah.

In a statement, Monday, the Council denounced the silence of the UN and the international community regarding these arbitrary practices of the countries of aggression, which represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and a clear violation of international charters, laws and norms.

The statement pointed to the catastrophic repercussions of the continued detention of fuel ships life of the citizens despite being subject to inspection procedures by the UN, and the consequent burdens on the economic, agricultural and health aspects.

The Shura Council’s statement called on the free people of the world and human rights and humanitarian organizations to put pressure on governments and bodies that turn a blind eye or provide cover to impose arbitrary measures and an unjust siege against the Yemeni people, in a flagrant violation of international norms, charters and laws.

The statement called on the UN to bear the humanitarian and moral responsibility towards the violations and sieges that the Yemeni people are subjected to, and to put pressure on the coalition of aggression to lift the siege, open ports and airports, and facilitate the entry of food, medicine and fuel.

The Shura Council held the Saudi-led aggression coalition fully responsible for the catastrophic repercussions of the detention of fuel ships and the continuation of piracy and siege on the Yemeni people.
