News - Middle East: The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, confirmed that Iraq will not be part of the "Abraham" agreement to normalize relations with Israeli enemy, explaining that the matter is difficult, and will not be soon. Hussein clarified regarding the expectations that Iraq would not join the Abraham Accords, in reference to the agreements to normalize relations that began between some Arab countries and the Israeli enemy.

The Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation, Issawi Freij, projected that Iraq would be among the next countries that might normalize its relationship with the Israeli enemy. Freij explained that a country that might normalize its relations with "Israel" is Iraq, in addition to other Muslim countries that will follow on the way.

The Israeli minister confirmed that there are understandings and direct contacts with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, revealing his dream to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia soon. He also stressed that the Israeli enemy and Iraq do not have diplomatic relations, and the situation was tense between the two countries, during the rule of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, who fired 43 missiles at Israel.

The Abraham Accords were signed in September 2020, to normalize relations between the Israeli enemy, the UAE and Bahrain, after which he announced the normalization of relations with Morocco and Sudan.
