News - Yemen: The Israeli enemy is a real threat to Yemen, said Brigadier General Abdullah Bin Amer, Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Armed Forces.

In a statement to Saba News Agency, Bin Amer indicated that the documentary film, produced by the Moral Guidance Department entitled The Unknown Aggression and which was shown on national channels recently, sheds light on the Israeli attacks on Yemen in the late 1976 during the era of President Ibrahim Al-Hamdi.

“The Israeli aggression was one of the reasons for Al-Hamdi and Salmeen’s move towards unity, as well as the holding of the Taiz Quartet Conference,” Bin Amer said, pointing out that Al-Hamdi's refusal to build an American military base in Bab al-Mandab was one of the reasons for his assassination on October 11, 1977.

He praised the national role played by President Al-Hamdi in that blatant aggression through which the Israeli enemy violated the Yemeni airspace.

"President Al-Hamdi made a secret visit to Bab El-Mandeb to begin strengthening defenses and fortifications, as well as communicating with President Salem Rabie Ali in Aden to arrange and coordinate to confront that aggression," Bin Amer added.

The Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department indicated that the West Coast and Bab El-Mandeb represent a great importance for the Israeli enemy, who has been seeking to control these vital areas since the seventies of the last century. At that time, the enemy began implementing the second line of defense strategy aimed at extending control over Bab El-Mandeb.

The film touched on the causes of the Israeli raids on Yemen, and the continued violation of Yemeni airspace over the past decades, especially in the airspace of the West Coast and Bab El-Mandeb.

It also touched on the Saudi role, which was an expression of the American agenda in pressuring President Al-Hamdi to accept the construction of a military base in Bab El-Mandeb, in addition to the foreign conflict in the southern Red Sea region, and the plans of the Israeli enemy, which posed a real threat to Yemen in the past and present.

Bin Amer explained that the preparation of the research related to the production of The Unknown Aggression film continued for several years, until important information was collected about the Israeli raids on Yemen, and the continuous violation of Yemeni airspace.
