News - Yemen: The Deputy Foreign Minister lambasted the statement of the Security Council, stressing that the ‘Rawabi’ ship belongs to a country participating in the aggression against our people and is in a state of war with Yemen and entered our territorial waters in violation of the laws.

On Friday, the Security Council said in a statement that the member states condemned what it considered it detaination of the UAE-flagged “Rawabi” ship, demanding its immediate release.

Al-Ezzi considered that the Security Council's statement is governed by financing considerations and has nothing to do with laws, morals or the safety of navigation and the security of ships, expressing regret that the role of the Security Council has changed to mislead public opinion and solidarity with killers and violators of laws and at this extremely shameful level.

The Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that the naval forces had the legal right to target the enemy ship "Rawabi", but they did not, stressing that "it is very important to respect the sovereignty of the great Yemen and the sanctity of its territorial waters."

On January 3, The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the operation of targeting an Emirati military cargo ship that was seized in the Yemeni territorial waters, and showed pictures and videos of the ship carrying military equipment.

During a press conference, the Armed Forces spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, said: "For the first time, the navy succeeded in carrying out a qualitative military operation targeting a military cargo ship while it was carrying out hostile activities at Yemen’s sea."

The Head of the National Delegation affirmed that the qualitative and unprecedented operation carried out by the Yemeni naval forces caused the countries of US-Saudi aggression into a state of confusion by issuing successive and contradictory statements.

The Yemeni navy has before destroyed and damaged several ships and frigates operated by the US-Saudi aggression while carrying out hostile acts against the Yemeni people.
