News - Middle East:  Satellite photos obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday appear to show the aftermath of a fatal attack on an oil facility in the capital of the United Arab Emirates by Yemeni Armed Forces.

The images by Planet Labs PBC analyzed by the AP show smoke rising over an Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. fuel depot in the Mussafah neighborhood of Abu Dhabi after the attack. Another image taken shortly after appears to show scorch marks and white fire-suppressing foam deployed on the grounds of the depot.

ADNOC did not respond to questions from the AP asking about the site and damage estimates from the attack. The company had said the attack happened around 10 a.m. Monday.

On Monday, the Armed Forces announced a rare military operation, targeting the Emirati depth, in response to the escalation of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression.

The armed forces said in a statement that the operation targeted the Dubai, Abu Dhabi airports, the Musaffah oil refinery in Abu Dhabi and a number of important and sensitive Emirati sites and facilities.

"The Operation 'Yemeni Tornado' was successfully carried out with five ballistic and winged missiles and a large number of drones," Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e explained.

"The Armed Forces are delivering today what they promised, and they are renewing their warning to the countries involved in the aggression that they will receive more painful blows," Sare’e added.

The Armed Forces warned foreign companies, citizens and residents of the UAE enemy state to stay away from vital sites and facilities for their own safety.

"We will not hesitate to expand the Bank of Targets to include more important sites and facilities during the near future,” the spokesman for the Armed Forces warned, declaring that the 'little' UAE is an unsafe state as long as its aggressive escalation against Yemen continues.

The UAE has recently escalated its aggression against Yemen, by sending forces under its command, which it calls the Giants Brigades, formed from Salafist, Takfiri and Daesh groups, to attack the districts of Shabwa Governorate. It has also escalated its aggression by transferring weapons and military equipment to militias affiliated with the aggression through Yemeni territorial waters.
