News - Yemen: Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf described the recent statements of the UAE representative to the United Nations as deceptive screams of the guilty before the world, Saba news agency reported.

His remarks come as the UAE’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, told CNN that her country still needs more US support to intercept retaliatory missiles fired by the Yemeni Army.

“UAE’s representative to the UN is attempting to deter any international investigation which will hold UAE responsible for killing and wounding more than 300 people as a result of targeting a prison in Sa’adah Governorate,” Sharaf said in a statement on Thursday. 

The Foreign Minister explained that Sana’a avoided targeting the UAE with retaliatory strikes after its multiple withdrawal announcements. However, the UAE's attempt to impose a new political and military reality on Yemen forced Sana'a to take appropriate response. It sent warning messages so that the UAE does not fall into illusions of control and serve the agendas of other countries in the region, including the Zionist entity.

He stressed that Sanaa, with its defensive forces and all its military capabilities, reserves the right to fully defend Yemen and Yemenis against any sources of danger.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed the call to the regimes in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh not to count on the allies' promises of support and to work on the path of peace and good mutual relations.

At the conclusion of his statement, the Foreign Minister affirmed that Yemen accommodates all its sons as long as they join under the banner of serving the country and the people and leading Yemen towards a future away from serving the agendas of an external alliance.
