News - Yemen: The Emirati-backed Giants militias have imposed control over the most important oil fields in Shabwa Governorate, eastern Yemen.

Local sources reported that the militias of the Giants, who arrived in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa, from the western coast at the end of last December, took control of the sites of the American Jannah Hunt Company fields, in the valley of the Asilan district. The move came after the field was under siege by the 107th Brigade of Islah for the past weeks, without any confrontations.
 
The sources indicated that the gunmen of the Giants took over the sites of the Hunt Oil Company, and expelled the Islah gunmen to sites outside the Asilan area.
 
This comes after the UAE authorities incited the Balharith tribes against the militants of the Islah Brigade, after which the leaders of the Giants intervened and developed solutions to protect the company's oil fields in the region.
 
The oil province of Shabwa falls within the circle of American and Zionist ambitions. The US envoy to Yemen, Landerking, and the US ambassador to the Saudi-backed government arrived last March to the city of Ataq, the capital of the province, and then to Hadramawt. The aim of the visit was to secure their interests from the Yemeni crude oil that is being looted, without the electricity stations in the southern governorates obtaining fuel.
 
Shabwa has the second largest liquefied gas facility in the Arab region on the Arabian Sea, which is exported from Marib, amid the suffering of millions of Yemenis from the domestic gas crisis in the past years.
