Hodeidah People Protest Condemning Raping Six Girls by US-Saudi-UAE Mercenaries

News - Yemen: The crime of raping six girls by the US-Saudi-Emirati mercenaries, in Hays district of Hodiedah governorate west of Yemen, has been widely denounced and criticized.

The people of Al-Hodeidah Governorate organized a mass protest Monday to condemn the crime, stressing that this crime reflects the baseness of its perpetrators.

A statement issued by the protest condemned the crime and considered it a reflection that indicates the ugliness of the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries and their criminal corruption project.

It called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to play their role in proving and documenting these crimes, calling on the free people of the world to stand firmly in the face of the crimes of US-Saudi aggression.

The Tribal People's Cohesion Council also condemned the “brutal crime”, calling on all Yemeni tribes to go out in protests condemning these crimes.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and its other regional allies, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015. The eight years of war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure. Yemeni people are facing malnutrition, hunger, and famine, which have increased risks of disease and starvation.

According to a report by Entesaf Organization for Woman and Child Rights last year, women in the areas under the Saudi-Emirati occupation and its mercenaries are subjected to violations, indicating that the rates of violence against women have increased by 63% since the start of the aggression.

The head of the organization, Sumaya Al-Taifi, explained that the report documented the most prominent crimes of kidnapping and rape against women in the areas under the occupation of the coalition of aggression and its mercenaries, especially in the southern governorates, amid the absence of the role of the security services, which many consider as a partner in committing such crimes.

She pointed to the shameful and inhumane position of the United Nations in front of the violations against Yemeni women, as well as its abandonment of its responsibilities and the withdrawal of support from most vital sectors.
