On Sunday, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e, announced a new strategic military operation targeting the Orot Rabin power station south of Haifa with a hypersonic ballistic missile named Palestine-2. He confirmed that the operation achieved its goal successfully.
Footage captured by Israeli settlers documented the missile’s arrival and the failure of Israel's air defense systems to intercept it. The strike caused a fire in the Hadera region south of Haifa, debunking claims by the Israeli military that the missile had been intercepted before entering Israeli airspace.
This operation marks a significant expansion in the range of Yemeni military strikes deep into Israeli-occupied territory. It is the first officially announced operation where the Palestine-2 hypersonic missile has reached such depths. Additionally, targeting the power station follows previous strikes on similar facilities in Jaffa and occupied Al-Quds, indicating a broader range of critical targets within Yemen’s operational framework.
This escalation aligns with previous statements by the Yemeni Armed Forces, which emphasized their capability to expand the range and scope of their operations within occupied Palestinian territories. It also demonstrates Yemen’s continued advancement in military capabilities to new heights.
In the latest operation’s statement, Brigadier General Sare'e reiterated: "The support operations for our brothers in Gaza will continue, with Allah's help, in parallel with the ongoing development of military capabilities to meet the demands of the current phase and its goals—foremost among them, forcing the Israeli enemy to halt its aggression against Gaza and lift the siege."
The Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi has previously stressed in several speeches the importance of intensifying efforts beyond current levels to further pressure the Israeli regime and its backers.
The expansion of Yemen’s operational range and target bank in occupied Palestinian territories represents a major blow to Israel, which finds itself in a state of declared incapacity and despair in the face of Yemen’s support operations. The latest strike underscores that Israel’s miscalculations regarding Yemen have not only failed to halt or limit Yemeni operations but have also resulted in severe strategic, security, and economic repercussions, further solidifying its state of paralysis.
This operation highlights the Yemeni Armed Forces' ability to dictate the rules of engagement, a reality that Israel has unsuccessfully attempted to counter through its aggression against Yemen, disinformation campaigns, and mobilization against Sana’a. It is now evident that Yemen’s leadership has cornered the Israeli occupation into an increasingly restrictive operational space where it can only react to, rather than shape, events. This is reflected in the Israeli media’s focus on the aftermath of Yemeni strikes and the inability of the Israeli military to halt them.
In this regard, The Jerusalem Post, an Israeli media outlet, has shed light on the psychological impact of Yemeni strikes within Israel. A new report described the nighttime missile launches as a "sophisticated strategic tool designed to create a cumulative state of psychological exhaustion, with each incident intensifying the sense of anxiety and vulnerability."
The report added that "launching missiles at night turns every small noise into a dramatic event, particularly due to the sleep disturbances it causes for tens of thousands of Israelis and the resulting fatigue." It argued that "the nighttime attacks have a psychological as well as military objective, aiming to undermine the sense of security. Disrupting nightly routines fosters a growing sense of threat, leaving a psychological imprint the next day."
Furthermore, the report noted that such psychological warfare "also undermines the relationship between the public and its leadership, as the public’s sense of vulnerability can increase internal criticism, placing additional pressure on the leadership."
The outlet concluded by acknowledging that "the battle against psychological exhaustion is one Israel must dominate, both locally and globally," signaling a clear loss of control by Israel over the dynamics of its confrontation with Yemen.
