National Military Committee: Saudi-Backed Side Procrastinates Deals, Not Attending Consultations

News - Yemen: The National Military Committee confirmed that it discussed violations of the UN-sponsored truce, monitored the ceasefire and open roads issue. It announced that the delegation made many proposals during its meeting with UN representatives, and was surprised that the Saudi-backed side did not attend the UN-sponsored consultations.

The head of the committee Major General Yahya Al-Razami confirmed Thursday, that the Saudi-backed side is still procrastinating on any understanding and did not attend the previous round.

He said: We decided to open the appropriate roads in stages, without waiting for the approval of the Saudi-backed party, and we regret the failure to reach an understanding as a result of this party's intransigence.

He held the other party responsible for any violation in the roads being opened humanitarianly, warning of carrying out military and aggressive actions, or harassing citizens and preventing them for political purposes.

He added that it became clear to the world during the Amman negotiations that the Saudi-backed party uses the road issue for political blackmail.

Major General Al-Razami indicated that the Military Committee discussed the issue of violations with the United Nations and other parties in Oman.

The head of the National Military Committee explained that the United Nations was informed of the continued violations by the US-Saudi aggression’s drones and warplanes, as well as military actions on the western coast, Taiz, Marib, and on other fronts.

He added, "We presented Sana'a's vision in strengthening the ceasefire, and we hold the Saudi-backed side responsible for repercussions resulting from the continued violations," noting that the Supreme Political Council's announcement of the unilateral opening of the Fifty-Sixty Road is evidence of our seriousness in alleviating suffering of citizens in Taiz.

Earlier on Wednesday, The Supreme Political Council affirmed that the failure of the US-Saudi aggression to implement all the provisions of the truce is a negative indication that does not encourage the continuation of the discussion of any renewal of the truce.

The Council pointed out that the correct basis for any future peace process is to stop the aggression and lift the siege on Yemen, starting with the complete and immediate opening of Sana'a International Airport, the port of Hodeidah, and the payment of employee salaries from oil and gas revenues, stressing that the implementation of these steps is one of the main important and fundamental issues to alleviate the suffering citizens as a result of aggression and siege.

The meeting focused on the results of the talks being held by the Military Committee in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on opening roads, foremost of which are a number of roads leading to the city of Taiz. The Political Council renewed its condemnation of the Saudi-backed party's reluctance to open roads in Taiz, mentioning that the Saudi-backed party raises issues that can only be moved to after gradual opening and securing a number of roads.

The Council pointed out that the opening of the Al-Hawban road requires the evacuation of the city of Taiz from the armed militias, which the mercenaries avoid. Economically, the Council welcomed any practical and realistic proposals from any company or entity capable of contributing to alleviating the suffering of citizens and breaking the monopoly of the countries of aggression to sell oil and provide oil derivatives to citizens at lower prices than the existing ones.

The Political Council pointed out that the US-Saudi aggression's siege contributed to increasing the burdens and the many costs added to the transportation of derivatives as a result of the detention and obstruction of ships and the raising of insurance amounts as a result of the blockade imposed on Yemen.
