The Minister of Transport praised what Yemeni Airlines had done in scheduling six new flights through Sana'a Airport during next August to Jordan, explaining that the new flights were scheduled for days (1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12) of August.
The Minister renewed the demand of the UN representative to operate the agreed trips to Cairo and to allow container ships to enter the port of Hodeidah, and not to delay the oil tankers from entering Hodeidah port, especially since they had obtained permits from the United Nations.
He pointed out the importance of opening the main roads to secure citizens, travelers and their properties, and to facilitate the movement of movement and the transfer of goods and oil derivatives between cities and governorates smoothly and easily. Al-Durra condemned the looting of pilgrims returning to the homeland after performing Hajj rituals in Al-Mahfad district, in the Abyan Governorate.
The mercenaries of the aggression had intercepted one of the buses transporting pilgrims during their return from performing Hajj, in the Al-Mahfad district in occupied Abyan. They were downed from the bus at gunpoint and their money and possessions were looted.
Activists on social media circulated videos showing the pilgrims being interrupted and looted of money and property by the Saudi-mercenaries, after threatening them with force of arms and getting them down from the bus.
The deal stipulates halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen’s lifeline al-Hudaydah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana’a "to predetermined destinations in the region."
The two-month humanitarian and military truce under the auspices of the United Nations entered into effect on the second of last April and ends on the second of June 2022. Over the past weeks, the forces of aggression have been obstructing the implementation of the truce, refusing to allow flights to reach Sana’a International Airport.
The humanitarian truce in Yemen provides for the operation of two commercial flights per week to and from Sana’a Airport during the two months of the truce to Jordan and Egypt.
The Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority called on the United Nations to "adhere to the provisions of the truce by operating the 16 agreed-upon flights during the remainder of the truce, to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni citizens."
