UNSC’s Statement Against Sana’a Reflects UNSC Approval for Looting Yemen's Oil: Officials

Yemen: Officials and representatives of the Yemeni political forces considered that the Security Council continues to ignite the war fire instead of finding the way to peace in Yemen.

The Security Council has stood since Operation Al-Dhaba against the foundations and principles for which it was established to protect peoples, including the theft of their wealth by the occupying powers.

The Yemeni Armed Forces carried out two warning operations against oil ships in Qena port and earlier on Dhabba port, when the ships ignored Sana’a’s warnings and entered the Dabba oil port in Hadramout to loot about two million barrels of crude oil.

Looting Yemeni oil has increased recently since the resumption of the sale of Yemeni crude oil in favor of the US-Saudi aggression coalition, with the aim of reducing the war bill in Yemen, as revenues will be transferred to an account in the National Bank of Saudi Arabia

Representatives of the political forces considered the decision of the political leadership to be correct and received great support by going beyond the free zones to the occupied areas, since all Yemenis did not benefit from Yemeni oil revenues, which it was hoped would alleviate the impact of the humanitarian crisis if it was spent in favor of the salary in all of Yemen.

The member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Al-Nuaimi commented on the statement of the Security Council saying:”we find that the Security Council continues to expose itself as being part of the aggression and the decisions of aggression, and the legitimate protector of the aggression against the Yemeni people”. “Indeed it participates in aggression in all its crimes, and it is responsible for them in all its decisions and statements,” he added.

He added that resolutions or the statement of the Security Council do not make a change in the Yemeni people's will, as they show the American killers and the Zionists decisions.

The member of the Supreme Political Council pointed out that the transformation of the Security Council to issuing statements instead of decisions reveals the strength of Sana'a's position, as it becomes the one who decides the war and peace in the region.

He explained that Sana’a has warned to prevent the theft of Yemeni oil and the warning operation towards the port of Al-Dhaba will not be the last; rather, the operations may extend in response to the aggression’s practices in broader directions that the aggression will regret. “It is no longer possible to remain silent about the orgy of the US-Saudi aggression alliance at sea, in the air or on land,” he added.

For his part,  Member of the Supreme Executive Committee of the Joint Meeting Parties, Yasser Al-Houri, said: “We are used to the Security Council that it stands with the executioner against the victim. Since 2015, the Security Council has issued twenty statements, all of which have worked to tense the situation politically and militarily.”

“The Security Council needs to reconsider its way of working or its position on the Yemeni situation. It must retract its resolution 2216. It must prepare an appropriate decision for Yemen to return to negotiations and a political solution, he added

Regarding denouncing Al-Dhaba port operation and preventing the oil looting, he said that these statements are expected because the Council is run by the great powers, foremost of which is the US, which is practicing aggression against Yemen. “Therefore, we do not expect the Security Council in the current circumstances to have any positive attitude,” he added.

He explained that such defensive operations are affirmation of Sana’a’s position. “We are pushing towards the payment of salaries from Yemeni oil and gas revenues. The position of the Security Council was very weak in this aspect, and because of that the extension of the truce failed.

Secretary General of the General People's Congress, Ghazi Mohsen confirmed that the decision of the political and revolutionary leadership is a wise, sound and timely decision. “It is absurd that the US-Saudi aggression destroyed our country, looting our wealth in the occupied areas, while Yemeni people suffer without salaries, nor electricity, and other services.

He said that the political forces are united behind the leadership against the aggression. He added “whether in the free zones or in the occupied territories, citizens look at Sanaa as a state from which they are waiting for liberation and defending sovereignty, independence, and defeating the occupier.”
