US-Saudi Mines, Cluster Bombs Turning Yemen to Explosive Sandbox to Kill Innocents

Yemen:  Day after day, the death toll of civilians is rising, as a result of the explosions of remnants of war waged by the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen.

The latest statistics issued by the Mine Action Center in Sana'a stated last September that the number of victims of mines and cluster bombs amounted to 3,956 dead and wounded, including 400 children and 115 women, since the beginning of the war until now.

It seems that efforts to combat explosive ordnance in Yemen are facing a double dilemma, represented by the refusal of the countries involved in aggression to enter detection equipment with the complicity of the United Nations, according to the Mine Action Center. In addition to the weak capabilities available to deal with the remnants of cluster bombs and mines, in Yemen, which was classified as one of the largest countries in the world contaminated with explosive ordnance.

In front of the sound of explosive explosions in various regions of Yemen, the United Nations remains silent, leaving the Yemenis to face their fate to face the disasters resulting from the war that the coalition launched in vain against Yemen.

On Tuesday, a poor civilian in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, joined the ranks of the Yemeni dead due to the remnants of war that lurk in everyone. These remnants carry out the task of killing, without having much time to distinguish the victim, whether it is a child or a woman. As soon as they come into contact with the explosive object, one of them loses his life or limbs.

The people of Yemen pay a heavy price for a war in which the coalition did not observe the most basic standards of humanity and the rules of international law.

Field studies indicate that Yemen needs intensive efforts for twenty years to get rid of explosive ordnance remnants of war.
