Yemen:  At a time when the London-based organization, Save the Children, announced that Yemen ranks second in the world in terms of food insecurity, Yemeni activists revealed new facts about the huge monthly funds received by officials of the Saudi-backed government in Yemen.

Economists in the areas controlled by the US-Saudi aggression revealed on Sunday that the salary of a minister in the Saudi-backed government amounts to eight thousand dollars per month. In addition to personal funds worth 25 million riyals per month, and an amount of 30 thousand Saudi riyals for “subsistence” provided by the countries involved in aggression, in addition to receiving armored cars and four-wheel drive cars for each minister.

Last December, the activists revealed that the members of the Council of Saudi-Emirati tool receive what amounts to one billion and 750 million riyals as monthly personal funds for each member beside the salaries, in addition to what they get from Saudi Arabia in foreign currency.

Official documents leaked last month revealed scandals of the Saudi-backed government, represented by the employment of a large number of sons and relatives of government officials in diplomatic positions and the creation of illegal external technical attachés.

The extent of corruption has also been revealed in the theft of scholarships seized by the sons and relatives of officials and leaders of the Saudi-backed government, estimated at more than 8.5 million dollars allocated for the first quarter of this year only.

According to the documents, the number of technical attachés created after 2015 is 15 in Riyadh, Manama, Amman and others. They were not established in accordance with the Diplomatic Corps Law. Documents noted that the salaries paid to them exceed five million dollars per month since 2015 until today.

According to what the activists circulated in general, the financial allocations are very huge and escalate from year to year, amid a state of extreme poverty experienced by the people of Yemen, as a result of the war of starvation and siege practiced by the coalition against the people of Yemen.
