Escalation of Tension between Saudi Arabia and UAE in Occupying Yemen Evident

Yemen: The rift in relations between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi was evident in Yemen through provocative steps between the two parties as each party attempts to extend its influence at the expense of the other, by pushing for more military reinforcements and counter-reinforcements on the western coast, Socotra, Shabwa and Aden, in preparation for a battle that seems inevitable.

Riyadh moved in overtime to extend its influence in Aden, Socotra, the western coast, and Shabwa, after it left the Emirates the rope wide open in those areas throughout the eight absurd years of war. This appeared recently through Riyadh’s formation of the so-called “National Shield Forces” and its deployment in the coastal strip extending from Aden, Lahj, and Mocha, as well as Saudi Arabia imposing the return of the governor affiliated with the Islah Party, “Ramzi Mahrous,” to Socotra Island, and sending Saudi forces to the island, which is under the control of UAE-backed militias.

Last month, Riyadh summoned the military leaders opposed to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, in particular the leaders affiliated with the Islah Party, headed by the mercenary leader "Abd Rabbo Lakab", the commander of the "Special Security Forces'' affiliated with the Islah Party in Shabwa. He appeared in Riyadh wearing the military uniform of the so-called Nation Shield Forces, which was recently formed by Saudi Arabia.

Local pro-aggression media confirmed that armed groups of the "Special Security Forces" militias that fled from Shabwa and settled in Marib at the end of 2021 have begun to return to the Gardan district, adjacent to the Ataq district, the center of the oil governorate in eastern Yemen, in a military build-up, which is the second in less than a month.

Saudi Arabia’s revival of the military wing of the Islah Party, the “Brotherhood Group,” comes to ensure the largest possible mobilization for an anticipated military confrontation with the UAE, to control the oil fields in Shabwa and Hadramout, and the ports and sea lanes.

Riyadh also continued its provocations against the “Transitional Transitional Council” by paying the salaries of 6 months to members of the Islah militia, which it had cut off from them since 2021, while it refused to pay the 8-month delayed salaries of the “ Transitional” militia.

Responding to the Saudi moves, Abu Dhabi sent its military arm on the western coast, "Tariq Afash," last month to the city of Taiz, the main stronghold of Islah, in a clear message that the UAE can penetrate and control the depth of Riyadh's main ally.

Abu Dhabi also responded to the arrival of the commander of the Saudi forces in Yemen, "Sultan Al-Baqami", by sending an intelligence delegation headed by an officer named Hamad Al-Zaabi "Abu Rashid", to the city of Hadibu, last March 4, to redistribute the "transitional" militia that it had brought from "Al-Dhalea and Yafaa", during In the past years.

It also sent, on March 8, a high-ranking official delegation headed by “Muhammad Mubarak Al Mazrouei,” advisor to Emirati President Mohammed bin Zayed, who arrived on the island accompanied by military experts.

The conflict between bin Zayed and bin Salman has surfaced, giving clear indications of a crack in the pillars of the evil duo.
The recent Saudi moves in the archipelago of Socotra Island, near Bab al-Mandab, Aden and Shabwa, as well as the Emirati counter-movements in those areas and the recent media exchange campaigns between the two countries revealed the soon end of the coalition.
