News - Yemen: Angry protests erupted Tuesday evening in a number of districts in Aden for the unprecedented deterioration of electricity services.

The protesters blocked the streets in the Mansoura and Sheikh Othman neighborhoods in Aden, and raised slogans calling for the departure of the Saudi-Emirati coalition.

Electricity outages have multiplied over the past two days as a result of the lack of diesel and fuel, which caused most stations to stop serving. This made the outage hours rise to eight or nine hours.

Local media in Aden reported that the head of the pro-aggression government, Maeen Abdul Malik, deliberately continued the electricity crisis. This is by not paying for two shipments of fuel that were present in the port since last Sunday evening.

The owners of the two ships refused to enter them except after receiving a notification that the financial value had entered their account, which Maeen Abdul Malik refused to pay. Then an intervention came on Tuesday evening, and the two ships entered the port in order to pump fuel.

An official at the Electricity Corporation in Aden said that the fuel will only last for two weeks, which means that the breakthrough is temporary.
