News - Middle East: A young Palestinian man has succumbed to injuries sustained during Israeli occupation’s raid on the West Bank city of Jenin last month.

The 20-year-old man identified as Ezzedine Kanaan was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper while he was en route to a center to donate blood to victims of the Israeli raid.
The body of Ezzedine, who was from the town of Jaba' in southern Jenin, will be laid to rest on Saturday after noon prayers.
Israel launched deadly aerial and ground attacks on the refugee camp of Jenin in early July.
The incursion, the fiercest into the West Bank in two decades, left 13 citizens dead, including five children. Over 140 others were injured, 30 of them seriously.
Under the claim of pursuing "wanted" Palestinians, Israeli forces routinely raid various cities of the West Bank, sparking violent clashes with the residents. The regime's brutal aggression has resulted in the death of more than 200 Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories and Gaza this year. The majority of these casualties have occurred in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, more than 30 people have been killed in Palestinian counterattacks that came in response to the Israeli settlers' and forces' atrocities,
According to the United Nations, 2023 is already the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank since it began recording fatalities in 2005.
The previous year, 2022, had been the most lethal year with 150 Palestinians killed, of whom 33 were minors, as reported by the United Nations.
The alarming rise in fatalities last year drew condemnation from UN experts, who denounced the Israeli regime's violations of Palestinians' rights, including attacks on their homes and destruction of their property.
During the Jenin raid, some 900 houses were damaged. Many are now uninhabitable. Also, at least 3,500 Palestinians were forced from their homes.
