News – Yemen: The Shura Council strongly condemned the crime of the US-Saudi aggression that targeted Al-Akhdua area in the Maqbanah district in Taiz governorate, which resulted in the death and injury of 17 citizens, most of them children and women.

In a statement, Saturday, the Council considered the continuous bombing of the artillery of the aggression and its mercenaries on the homes of safe citizens in Taiz Governorate, as well as the border areas in Sa’adah, as a disgrace to humanity and war crimes.

The statement indicated that this crime reflects the extent of the brutality of the aggression and its mercenaries, in clear disregard for all humanitarian principles and laws, and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The statement stressed that these crimes will only increase the Yemeni people's steadfastness in the face of the aggression that targets the dignity and sovereignty of the Yemeni people, calling on the United Nations, the Security Council, countries of the world and human rights organizations to break the shameful silence regarding the genocide and siege that the Yemeni people are subjected to.

The statement held the forces of the aggression and its mercenaries responsible for this crime, and all crimes that target civilians and defenseless people.

In its statement, the Shura Council expressed its deepest condolences and great sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims who fell in this heinous crime.

Earlier, 17 civilians, most of them women and children, were killed and wounded by artillery shells of the mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression in Taiz.
The Human Rights Office in Taiz condemned the crime of aggression that targeted Al-Akhdua area in the Maqbanah district, which resulted in the death and injury of 17 citizens, most of them children and women.
The office said in a statement that this crime against children and women is part of a series of crimes committed by the mercenaries of aggression in the province.

Taiz and other occupied provinces suffer from a state of security chaos and have become a scene of murders, kidnappings and torture of civilians. Violations and crimes are exacerbated in the areas under the control of the US-Saudi aggression and mercenaries, with the complicity of the security authorities there, which have reached the point of deliberately targeting civilians with killing and threats.

What is happening in those areas are war crimes and flagrant violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law. However, human rights organizations do not move a finger about these violations.

Earlier, a citizen was wounded by Saudi enemy bullets in the border district of Shada. He was transferred to Razih Rural Hospital, while the Saudi enemy continued to target areas in the same district with artillery.

Human Rights Watch documented, in a report issued on Monday, that Saudi border guards opened fire on Ethiopian migrants while they were trying to cross from Yemen, without addressing the suffering of Yemeni civilians, thousands of whom were killed and injured as a result of the Saudi attacks.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to bomb the border areas almost daily with various types of weapons, causing the death and injury of hundreds of citizens and extensive destruction in villages, homes, farms and properties in the border areas.
