News - Yemen: The Ministries of Human Rights and Local Administration held, Wednesday, a press conference entitled Death camps in the occupied governorates: brutality and heinousness crimes.

The Minister of Human Rights, Ali Al-Dailami, stated that 58 prisons were identified in the occupied governorates, which were used by the US-Saudi aggression to abduct, torture and kill civilians coming from the other governorates.

He stated that dozens of homes in Taiz Governorate are used  as detention centers to hide and torture civilians, and its criminal operations are managed and financed by Saudi Arabia and UAE.

He pointed out that the US-Saudi aggression committed more than 800 crimes against children and women, on the western coast of Yemen, including kidnapping and rape of women and children.

He stressed that the points, flags and slogans of Al-Qaeda are spread in the areas under the control of the militias and the mercenaries of aggression, and with it the crimes of kidnappings, interruptions and looting of travelers spread.

Al-Dailami revealed that last Saturday, US and Saudi forces carried out a naval deployment using a large number of boats and prevented fishermen from fishing on the shores of the Arabian Sea.

He considered that the foreign presence in the southern and eastern governorates, by deploying American soldiers in the lands of Hadhramaut, Shabwa, and Socotra, facilitates the invading forces’ practices of criminal violations against the Yemenis.

The Minister of Local Administration, General Ali Al-Qaisi, indicated that this conference sheds light on the crimes committed by the US-Saudi aggression and its tools in the occupied governorates.

He explained that the US-Saudi aggression insist on concealing the fate of detainees and those hidden in the occupied governorates, and we hold the UN organizations responsible.

The detainee's sister, Yassin Al-Mutawakel, narrated how her brother was arrested, who was arrested while traveling to the city of Marib to buy a car in early May 2021.

Hajj Ali Al-Haimi explained that his children were selling qat in Aden, and on 10/16/2020 their house was raided in the middle of the night by the forces of the so-called Transitional Council and they took all the families, women and children.

In May 2021, a report issued by the Media Center for Southern Governorates exposed many practices in secret prisons in the occupied southern Yemeni governorates. These prisons constitute the most prominent closed black files and the most important tools of oppression and intimidation practiced by the Saudi-Emirati occupation countries against opponents of occupation criminal practices and destructive policies.

No secret prison belonging to the UAE has been closed during the past years, despite Abu Dhabi's announcement of the withdrawal from Yemen and the handing over of the occupation leadership to Saudi Arabia in early October 2019. In addition, all prisons and detention centers that were affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior before the occupation were transformed into prisons belonging to the armed militias of the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

The militias of the occupation forces have established illegal detention centers in the camps' headquarters of the occupation militias in the various southern governorates.

According to information obtained by the Media Center for the Southern Governorates, Aden Governorate is still the main headquarters of the Emirati secret prisons that are managed under cover by the Saudi occupation forces that took over the leadership of the occupation headquarters from the Emirati in early October 2019.

There are three secret prisons in Bir Ahmed, west of Aden, one of which is a group prison, the second is a solitary prison that has been established, and the third is a secret prison dedicated to the forcibly disappeared.

In addition, the Support Forces, the Security Belt, and the Special Forces Camp in the city have solitary and group prisons. They turned the prison of intelligence and political and national security in Aden into secret prisons belonging to the militias of the Emirati-backed STC, with the exception of the central prison in Aden, which is still subject to the Public Prosecution in Aden.
