Documents Reveal Corruption of Saudi-backed Ministry of Foreign Affairs with $750 Million

News - Yemen: Documents obtained by Al-Masirah Media Network revealed financial and administrative corruption in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is affiliated with the US-Saudi aggression, with an amount of three-quarters of a billion dollars, enough to pay the salaries of all state employees for five months.

The documents obtained by Al-Masirah are issued by the Saudi-backed Special Committee for Governance in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealing financial and administrative corruption in the ministry.

The documents indicated that the Saudi-backed Financial and Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Awsan Abdullah Al-Awd seized public funds in the ministry and transferred them to personal accounts in several countries.

They also indicated that Al-Awd established private commercial companies in Poland and Germany with various activities, including import, export, medicine, real estate and transportation, and appointed diplomatic personnel to manage them.

The documents stated that "Al-Awd appointed his friends as financial officials in some diplomatic missions to use their accounts to transfer the money he seized from the ministry's financial resources."

According to the documents, Al-Awd exploited his position to employ his relatives and close associates in prestigious diplomatic positions, with the rank of advisor and with primary and secondary education qualifications.

Al-Awd made appointments that violated the diplomatic corps law and outside the diplomatic corps lists, with high salaries and under different titles. He also inflated embassy staff and drained tens of millions of dollars monthly for individuals whose work had ended, and some of them obtained permanent residency or asylum, according to the documents.

The documents revealed that the amount deprived from the state treasury during the period from April 2015 to June 2022 is estimated at $750 million.

Analyzing the documents shows that the amount wasted by the traitor Al-Awd alone covers the salaries of public sector employees for five consecutive months.

In late August, the "Parliamentary Committee for Fact-Finding" of the Saudi-mercenaries has acknowledged the existence of extensive corruption operations practiced by the pro-aggression government and its leaders in various sectors, including oil, electricity, and telecommunications.

It affirmed that the country's resources and wealth are being subjected to significant and evident tampering, looting, and wastage, despite attempts to cover it up through deliberate censorship of data and information. This once again reveals the disgraceful role played by the Saudi-mercenaries in depriving Yemenis of their rights and exacerbating their suffering with the support of the countries of aggression.
