Yemen Condemns Terrorist Bombings in Syria

News - Middle East: The Political Bureau of Ansarullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a graduation ceremony at the Syrian military academy in Homs, carried out with drones.

This attack resulted in the tragic loss of many lives and numerous injuries, including civilians.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ansarullah Bureau expressed its concern that the primary beneficiaries of this heinous act are the United States and Israel, both of which have been involved in an unjust war against the Syrian people, leadership, and army for an extended period.

"The US and Israel are the driving forces behind all sinister plots against Syria's security and stability due to its principled stance in support of central causes like the Palestinian issue, its alignment with the axis of resistance, its rejection of normalization with the Zionist entity, and its unwavering support for jihad and resistance movements in Palestine, Lebanon, and beyond," the statement emphasized.

Ansarullah Political Bureau extended its heartfelt condolences to the Syrian people, their leadership, and the families of the martyrs affected by this grievous tragedy.

The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned the atrocious terrorist act that targeted the graduation ceremony for Military Academy cadets in Homs. In a statement issued, the Ministry reiterated Yemen's unwavering stance against extremism and terrorism in all its forms, recognizing them as threats to international peace and security and as contrary to the values of true Islam.

The statement conveyed Yemen's solidarity with the leadership and people of sisterly Syria in the face of criminal acts aimed at destabilizing security and stability within the country.

On Thursday, Syrian Health Minister Hasan Ghabbagh announced that the death toll from the terrorist attack on the graduation ceremony of Military Academy cadets in Homs has risen to 80, including six women and six children.

"The number of injuries has reached nearly 240, according to preliminary data," the Minister reported in a telephone call to Syria TV.

The Government of the Syrian Arab Republic has declared a 3-day official mourning period, starting Friday, October 6, to honor the civilians and soldiers who tragically lost their lives in the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the graduation ceremony of Military Academy cadets in Homs on Thursday.

As a sign of respect, flags in Syria, as well as in all embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, will be lowered to half-mast during this mourning period.
