News - Yemen: In its Saturday session, the Yemeni Parliament voted on a draft law prohibiting and criminalizing the recognition of the Zionist entity and normalization of relations with it.

The draft law aims to prohibit and criminalize recognition or normalization with the Zionist entity occupying Palestinian and other Arab territories, preventing the establishment of diplomatic, political, military, economic, cultural, or any other relations with this occupying entity, either directly or indirectly.

The Parliament commended the defensive tactical capabilities of the Armed Forces in fulfilling their national and constitutional tasks to protect sovereignty over airspace and coasts in Yemeni territorial waters. The most recent achievement was the downing of a US military drone engaged in hostile espionage actions in Yemeni airspace.

Emphasizing Yemen's legitimate right to defend its national sovereignty and confront all hostile threats, the Parliament called on Arab and Islamic parliaments and free parliamentarians to enact legislation criminalizing normalization and recognition of the Zionist entity. It urged them to consider it a rogue terrorist entity outside international, humanitarian, and moral laws and conventions.

The Parliament also condemned the continued failure and silence of Arab regimes, criticizing their lack of initiative to support the Palestinian people and address the aggression and siege on Gaza.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise attack into the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

The death toll from Israel’s genocidal attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached at least 11,000 people, including 4,506 children. At least 27,490 people have been wounded as well.
