News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministry of Public Health and Population strongly condemned the recent incursion by the Zionist enemy into the Al-Shifa Hospital complex in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Ministry criticized the international community for what it perceives as passive observation in the face of actions by the Zionist entity. It expressed concern about the safety of doctors, health workers, patients, and displaced individuals—approximately nine thousand of whom are present at the complex—who were threatened during the intrusion.

"For the fortieth day, the heinous crimes of the occupying entity in Gaza continue. Today, it stormed the Shifa Medical Complex, opened fire on its sections, and threatened the lives of at least nine thousand doctors, health workers, patients, the wounded, and displaced people residing there," it explained.

“The state of addiction to lying that the usurping entity has been experiencing for 75 years continues today, and the allegations of searching for a military headquarters for the free Palestinian resistance in the corridors of Shifa Complex have not helped it to be convicted as a war criminal representing mass terrorism supported by the countries of global arrogance,” it said.

It pointed out that the targeting of civilians, including children and women, the direct bombing of medical personnel, and the health system in Gaza come within the scenario of genocide adopted by the US and the countries subject to its will, which destroys peace and violates rights.

The statement denounced the prevention by the Zionist enemy of burying the decomposing bodies that were spread out in the courtyard of Shifa Complex and its surroundings, which had become vulnerable to being mauled by dogs. It stressed that the military failure of the Zionist entity in Gaza motivated it to target medical facilities in search of any achievement.

It called for the rapid opening of crossings to provide humanitarian assistance, urgent relief support, and the speedy bringing of the Zionist entity to trial as a chronic war criminal along with its leaders who committed the most horrific crimes, the war of extermination, which resulted in the deaths of more than 11,000 and left more than 25,000 injured and disabled.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm into the occupied territories in response to the occupying regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the Gaza-based health ministry, at least 11,250 Palestinians have been killed in the strikes, most of them women and children, and more than 29,000 others have been injured in the Israeli strikes.

Tel Aviv has also imposed a “complete siege” on Gaza, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
