News - Yemen: Yemeni Parliament has strongly condemned and denounced the bombing and destruction of the Legislative Council building in the Gaza Strip by the Zionist enemy.

In a statement, it decried the Zionist entity targeting of Dr. Ahmed Bahr, the Acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and condemned the crimes committed against Legislative Council members and the Palestinian people, resulting in the martyrdom and injuries of thousands.

The Parliament affirmed that the Zionist entity's targeting of the Legislative Council building in Gaza was part of a series of brutal crimes, massacres, and a genocidal war systematically waged against the Palestinian people for over a month and a half.

Calling for urgent and effective action, it urged Arab, regional, and international parliaments to pressure their governments to support and aid Palestinians in confronting the Zionists aggressive war backed by the US and Western support.

Furthermore, it appealed to parliaments, unions, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation against Palestinian civilians and their capabilities. The statement urged pressure to halt American-Zionist aggression against Gaza and break the siege imposed on the Strip.

The Parliament also urged global parliaments and free people to collaborate in pursuing Zionist leaders through the International Criminal Court to hold them accountable for the horrific massacres, war crimes, and genocide committed against civilians.

Assigning responsibility, the Parliament held the US, UK, France, and Western countries supporting Zionist leaders accountable for the crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied territories.

Reiterating its stance, the Yemeni Parliament reaffirmed the Palestinian people's right to defend themselves and pursue their legitimate rights for an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Expressing deep condolences and sympathy, the Parliament's statement conveyed heartfelt solidarity to the presidency, members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, their resolute resistance, and the entire Palestinian populace for the loss of the Acting President of the Palestinian Legislative Council and all those affected by the American Zionist crime.

The Israeli military on Wednesday bombed the Palestinian Legislative Council building in Gaza City, according to several local media reports and videos circulating online.

News outlets including Channel 12 and the Times of Israel newspaper said the troops destroyed the parliament building, days after photographing themselves inside it.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm into the occupied territories in response to the occupying regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the Gaza-based health ministry, at least 12,000 Palestinians have been killed in the strikes, most of them women and children.

Tel Aviv has also imposed a “complete siege” on Gaza, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

Its forces raided Al-Shifa Hospital late Tuesday, the largest medical complex in Gaza, where thousands have taken shelter.
