News - Yemen: Two children were killed and five others were injured, Thursday, by explosive remnants of US-Saudi aggression in Al-Jawf governorate.

Almasirah correspondent in Al-Jawf reported that two children were killed and five others from the same family were injured as a result of the explosion of an object left over from the US-Saudi aggression in the Al-Yatma area in the Khub Washaaf District.

Cluster bombs, mines, explosive objects and shells dropped by the US-Saudi aggression coalition are widespread in various governorates, and their victims are dozens, most of them children.

Earlier, the Ministry of Human Rights and the Executive Center for Mine Action have released a documentary report titled "Cluster Bombs and Remnants of Aggression: War Crimes and Mass Destruction."

Ali Safra, the Executive Director of the Mine Action Center, explained that the US-Saudi aggression's aircraft had launched over 2,932 cluster bombs in the past nine years.

Safra stated that the total number of victims of cluster bombs since the beginning of the aggression has reached 9,000, with a majority being women and children.

He noted that the coalition's aircraft utilized more than 3,187,630 cluster munitions from the United States, Britain, Pakistan, and Brazil, which were dispersed across most governorates of Yemen.

Safra pointed out that the center documented the devastating effects of the indiscriminate and excessive use of these lethal weapons in 119 districts across 19 governorates. He emphasized that the coalition intentionally targeted residential communities, valleys, and flood paths with the aim of spreading them throughout various regions, particularly agricultural lands.

In early September, President Mahdi Al-Mashat expressed concern over the daily casualties caused by cluster bombs, mines, and explosive remnants from the US-Saudi aggression in the border regions.

The President expressed his surprise at the suspension of support for the Executive Center for Mine Action and hoped that the center would receive humanitarian assistance due to its vital role in saving the lives of citizens in the buffer zones.

Numerous regions in Yemen's governorates have been subjected to bombardment by the US-Saudi aggression using cluster bombs. Many of these internationally prohibited munitions still lie scattered among farms and roads, resulting in dozens of victims.

The toll of cluster bomb victims has surpassed 25,000 civilians since the onset of the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen.

Landmines and remnants of aggression forces that were planted during their occupation continue to pose threats to residents in various district areas, particularly farms and roads.

According to official statistics, nine governorates in Yemen have witnessed 2,500 cluster bomb raids, including destructive, phosphorous, and piercing bombs, with notable mentions being US CBU-87 bombs, British BL755 bombs, and Brazilian ASTROS II bombs.
