Abdulsalam: No Harm to Ships Bound for Global Ports, Except Those Heading to Israeli Ports

News - Yemen: Mohammed Abdulsalam, the official spokesman for Ansarullah, has clarified that any notion beyond our stated position on targeting enemy ships is a biased and misleading narrative propagated by American propaganda, detached from reality.

"We reiterate the safety of maritime routes in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, ensuring no threat to ships from any nation, except those linked to the enemy entity or destined for its ports," he stated.

He further detailed that the targeting of enemy vessels or those en route to such destinations is a direct response to the entity's aggressive and oppressive blockade imposed on Gaza.

Abdulsalam stressed that the biased American propaganda aims to construct an international shield safeguarding Israel at sea, attempting to compensate for the concrete barriers that crumbled in the face of the Al-Aqsa Storm.

The Yemeni army has intensified attacks on ships en route to the Israeli-occupied territories after the illegal entity refused to extend a Qatari-brokered ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and pressed ahead with its genocidal war on the besieged Palestinian territory.

In a recent development on Monday, spokesman of Yemen’s armed forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed attacks on two ships in the Red Sea earlier in the day “in solidarity with the Palestinian people in light of the aggression against Gaza.”

Yemen's Army has conducted several such attacks against Israel-bound ships in recent weeks.

The Armed Forces reiterat in every attack Yemen’s position that they will only target ships heading to Israeli ports, and all the other ships bound for other ports can freely move in waters near Yemen.

Western media reports say that insurance costs for ships transiting the area have jumped in recent days, amounting to increases in the tens of thousands of dollars for larger ships like oil tankers.

US officials say they plan to build an international coalition to protect ships in the area, with the US Special Envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, saying on Thursday that Washington wanted the "broadest possible" maritime coalition to signal to the Yemenis that attacks would not be tolerated.
