News - Middle East: Yemeni political factions within the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) have strongly condemned the recent American assault on a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq. This attack resulted in the loss of two leaders and left six members of the Popular Mobilization Forces wounded.

In a statement released on Thursday, the JMP expressed vehement criticism of this act of American aggression, underscoring that it blatantly violates Iraq's sovereignty.

The statement also asserted Iraq's rightful stance to respond appropriately to this and previous acts of aggression. It emphasized that the United States must face the repercussions of its actions, considering the presence and solidarity of the Iraqi people, army, and popular mobilization.

On Thursday, an Iraqi security source reported an aerial bombardment by a drone targeting the logistical support headquarters of the PMF's 12th Brigade "Al-Nujaba" near the Iraqi Police College in eastern Baghdad.

Subsequently, a security source and a medical source reported an increase in casualties resulting from the aerial bombardment, with three killed and six wounded.

Additionally, Al-Nujaba Movement announced on Thursday the death of the Assistant Commander of Baghdad Belt Operations at the PMF, Mushtaq Talib Al-Saadi (Abu Taqwa), due to the "cowardly American attack on the logistical support headquarters in Baghdad."

A military spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces blamed the US-led Global Coalition for the strike, describing the attack as a "terrorist action."

Reuters reported that a US official stated that their country conducted an airstrike in Baghdad against "a militia leader responsible for attacks on American forces."
