Yemeni Parliament Issues Warnings to Global Counterparts, Urging Caution in Aligning with US-British Alliance

News - Yemen: Yemeni Parliament Speaker, Yahya Al-Rae'e, dispatched messages to various parliamentary leaders worldwide, delineating Yemen's stance on concerning US activities. The missives cautioned against aligning with robust American and British endeavors that pose threats to international navigation, aim to militarize the Red Sea, and endanger regional security, serving the interests of the Israeli occupying entity.

The messages vehemently refuted the content within the coalition's joint statement, accusing it of deceiving public opinion and the misled nations, particularly highlighting suspicions around the American role.

The Speaker, in communications to multiple world parliamentary heads, reiterated the Yemeni Parliament's firm condemnation of the US-led false distortions and baseless allegations regarding threats to international navigation in the Red Sea.

Further condemnation was expressed for the hostile actions of the US forces targeting three Yemeni Navy vessels within Yemen's territorial waters. These vessels were executing their duties to safeguard Yemeni sovereignty and ensure navigation security in the Red Sea. The attack resulted in the martyrdom and loss of ten Yemeni Navy personnel.

Sana'a reaffirmed its commitment to securing and facilitating navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. However, this excludes Israeli vessels or those bound for ports in occupied Palestinian territories until crossings are accessible for the entry of essential supplies - water, food, and medicine - for the people of Gaza.

Additionally, the messages affirmed the right of Yemenis and Arabs to stand in solidarity with Palestinians enduring racial extermination, genocide, and comprehensive sieges enforced by the Zionist occupying entity, backed by the United States, Britain, and other European nations.

The Parliament Speaker expressed hope that parliamentary leaders and members would pressure their respective governments to withdraw from this aggressive coalition, to which Yemen remains prepared to respond decisively.

These messages constitute Yemen's efforts to clarify its stance on American and British activities in the Red Sea, emphasizing its unequivocal rejection of these actions and its commitment to take necessary measures in response.

The Yemeni army has intensified attacks on ships en route to the Israeli-occupied territories after the illegal entity refused to extend a Qatari-brokered ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and pressed ahead with its genocidal war on the besieged Palestinian territory.

Yemen has vowed it will continue with its attacks until Israel stops its onslaught against Gaza, reiterating that it will only target ships heading to Israeli ports, and all the other ships bound for other ports can freely move in waters near the country.

12 countries led by the United States issued a joint statement on Wednesday warning that there would be consequences to any further attacks by Yemen's Armed Forces missile and drone against ships en route to Israeli ports.

Signatories of the statement include Germany, Japan and the UK. The only country from the Middle East to have signed the statement is Bahrain, which hosts the US Fifth Naval Fleet. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are the conspicuous absentees, weary, perhaps, of potential repercussions of getting on the wrong side after their nine-year failure in war against Yemen.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces warn the American enemy or any other party that any aggression will not go unanswered or unpunished,” said the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sare'e in a televised briefing Wednesday, reiterating Yemen's will to target Israel-bound vessels until “necessary supplies of food and medicine” are delivered to the people besieged in Gaza.
